ERP Training & Support Specialist

Central California

Primary responsibility is to provide support and training to maximize the effectiveness of Big Creek’s POS/ERP system (Bistrack); integrate technology with business and user needs; develop and document best practices and standard operating procedures for POS/ERP use.  Additional responsibilities may include occasional installation, training, operation and maintenance in other hardware, software and applications.  Perform other tasks and special projects as needed.  Assist in insuring system integrity, security, and reliability.  Work closely and coordinate with IT Department. 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Learn POS/ERP system; develop comprehensive understanding of its capabilities; tailor system configuration to meet business and user needs
  • Provide user support and training for POS/ERP system and related applications
  • Provide new employee set-up and training in effective use of POS/ERP
  • Research, implement, present and support new POS/ERP releases
  • Troubleshoot user issues and provide training targeted to meet individual needs
  • Develop solutions for user needs
  • Develop and document best practices and standard operating procedures for POS/ERP system and related applications
  • Assist in insuring system integrity, security, and reliability
  • Perform other tasks and special projects as needed

Knowledge, Skills & Characteristics:

  • Associate degree in computer science or equivalent
  • SQL competency
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to train effectively and work well with others
  • Ability to prioritize effectively
  • Well-organized
  • Ability to be productive with minimal supervision; self-motivated
  • Ability to effectively and productively manage frequent interruptions
  • Ability and motivation to quickly learn our business and computer systems
  • Ability and desire to provide excellent customer service
  • Ability to protect confidential information; high level of integrity
  • Basic lumber and building material knowledge preferred
  • Ability to frequently travel among Big Creek’s various locations, attend user conferences and visit non-competitive POS/ERP users; overnight travel will be necessary
