February Lumber Market Report

With dry weather extending the building season in California and increasing the demand for materials, the lumber market has seen some of the highest prices in years, with studs being the front runners. Plywood & OSB markets have remained firm. When the East Coast thaws out there will be more demand, so we don't expect a decrease in prices in the market.

What's Ahead for the 2014 Housing Market

Look for prices to rise more slowly in 2014 and home building to push ahead of the housing market's recovery.

By Julie Schmit, USA TODAY

The housing recovery hit high gear in 2013 with bigger than expected price gains and solid home sales.  This year isn't likely to be as exciting.

Farmhouse Remodel by Glen Bagwell

Builder:  Glen Bagwell

Builder Specialty: Remodels and new construction.

Project Description:  This project was a complete remodel of a historic farmhouse.  The structure was gutted, both wings were removed, the house was lifted onto a new foundation and the structure was rebuilt and brought back to its historical shape.  The siding is redwood from Big Creek Lumber; treated with several coats of oil to showcase the natural beauty of the wood.
