Pressure Treated

PressureTreat_Picture.jpgBig Creek Lumberii stocks one of the most comprehensive supplies of pressure treated lumber in Central California. From foundation sills to fence posts, we have the right product for the job. If we don’t have it, we’ll special order it for you.

Pressure treated lumber (PTi) is made from either Doug fir or Hem fir. In structural applications, Doug fir PT is the material of choice. It’s typically used for mudsills, joists, and large engineered retaining walls. Most of our Doug fir PT is certified for ground contact.

The two primary preservatives in the “new generation” of PT are alkaline copper quaternary (ACQ) and copper azole (CBA). Trade names include NatureWood®, NaturalSelect and Protection and Preserve®.

We stock it in the following dimensions and lengths:
2x4 through 2x12
3x4 through 3x12
4x4 through 4x12
6x6 through 6x12                  most dimensions available in 8-20 foot lengths.

Our supply of Hem fir PT consists mainly of landscape products suitable for fencing and small retaining walls. Most of our Hem fir PT is also stained a cedar tone color to give it a more natural appearance. The preservatives used in the Hem fir are similar to those used in Doug fir. We stock the Hem fir in the following dimensions:
2x4, 2x6, and 2x12
4x4, 4x6, and 6x6

Check with the Big Creek yard in your area for the selection of lengths available.
